Los Angeles nicknamed the "City of Angels" partly because of the Spanish translation is "The Angels". The city more commonly is referred to by the initials LA.

A must see for any gay tourist is the area of West Hollywood and referred locally as WeHo. With approximately forty percent of its citizens identifying as gay WeHo is like the gayest city in the country. LA boasts some other great gay area as well such as Silver Lake, trendy Mt. Washington and Los Feliz. We would recommend you stay in West Hollywood getting around the city is not easy with a car.

Places to stay

LA and in particular West Hollywood has very few exclusively gay or hetero friendly hotels but has a number of very gay friendly places to stay. Will Rogers Beach is L.A.'s Gay Beach. Will Rogers Beach has become the unofficial gay sand spot, with most weekends packed with sun seekers. Lot of nice-looking guys go to this beach. Note that the gay section of the beach is at 14801 Pacific Coast Highway as it is a long beach.

Venice Muscle Beach is more known for guys working out and standing around to show their bodies and muscles rather than laying down in the sun. Cafes & Restaurants

Depending on where you are staying LA is full of cafes and restaurants. If you are staying in the WeHo neighbourhood the majority of place to eat and drink are gay run, owned or gay friendly. The typical burgers, shrimp and steak restaurants are popular. Due to a large Latino community Mexican food is popular.

Look for places to dine with your eyes and nose to see the food being eaten by other diners and if the customers are cute.

WeHo is a great place for shopping with lots of choice. It’s a fashionable part of the city full of lots of small boutique with lots of nice gear to buy.
