City Overview

Province town is a New England town located at the extreme tip of Cape Cod Massachusetts. A tiny coastal resort town with a year-round population of just under 3,000 people that in the summer increases to around 60,000 at peak times,

Often referred to as "P'town" the town is known for its artists, beaches, harbour, tourist industry and status as a vacation destination for the LGBTQ community.

Today P-town is much more commercial and its streets crowd with tourists. During the summer months it feels extremely gay when visitors descend to enjoy the liberal attitude of the local community, the sun, sand and numerous bars and clubs. The easiest way to get Provincetown is the "fast ferry" from Boston which takes about 90 minutes.

Provincetown Beaches

Herring Cove is Provincetown's most popular beach. You'll see gay men and lesbians everywhere. It is an unofficial nude beach as technically illegal to be naked. The dunes are infamous for cruising and connecting.

Bars, Clubs & Parties

The majority of the night life is around commercial street and in some of the B&Bs or guest houses.

Aqua Bar is a patio bar in the centre of town serving creative cocktails with water views from the comfortable deck. Address 207 Commercial Street.

Purgatory (at Gifford House) is a dance bar that hosts leather dance parties and other themed parties. Address 11 Carver Street.

Shipwreck Lounge (at The Brass Key) is an upscale lounge located inside the Brass Key Guesthouse with a large fireplace and cosy barrel chairs. Address 10 Carver Street.

Paramount (at Crown & Anchor) is a club with a large dance floor and a huge pool patio at the back so a fun alternative to more crowded bars. Address 247 Commercial Street.

Macho Bar (upstairs at the Atlantic House) is a bar playing heavy house music and port on the TV screens and little darker than the other bars. Address 4-6 Masonic Place.

Vault (downstairs at Crown & Anchor) is a cruise bar has dark corners, porn on the TV and attracts guys in leather. Address 247 Commercial St

Cafes & Restaurants

Provincetown has a good choice of cafes and restaurants. The typical burgers, shrimp and steak restaurants are popular. Look for places to dine with your eyes and nose to see the food being eaten by other diners and if the customers are cute.

Main LGBT Events 

There is the annual PrideFest Parade every June which is popular with guys whom have been going to P’town for many years. Book your place to stay well in advance for this event as island gets fully booked.
